She has worked with children, adolescents and families in conflict or with behavioral and emotional issues since 2006 in a variety of clinical and advocate roles. Courtney joined KCS in 2016 and is the Vice President and Director of Business Operations.
Prior to private practice, she was a child and family therapist at a community agency and worked primarily with children and families with a history of trauma, abuse and separation. She also served as the facility director of the agency and was responsible for both clinical oversight and day-to-day business operations.
Courtney has a passion for working with children, adolescents, young adults and parents. She understands the importance of supporting the entire family system when embarking on the path to well-being. Each client and family are unique, and one of the most important parts of our work together will be building a trusting therapeutic relationship in which she works to understand my clients and their specific concerns. She take a collaborative, strengths based approach to counseling and incorporates her experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Family Systems Therapy to teach clients new skills and offer insights into current patterns of thoughts and behaviors. In her work with children and adolescents, she uses play and artistic expression as a way to facilitate greater self awareness and growth.
Courtney is pursuing her Play Therapy Specialist credentials.
